At least with a job, no one cares if you are ugly or weird in some way as long as you don't violate sexual harassment policy. I used to work in an office and I was sort of a pariah but no one reported me or anything. They just thought I was weird and kept it moving. I've moved away from desk jobs now and in the blue collar world people are a bit different. In some blue collar jobs people try to mess with you all the time but thankfully in my field (data centers) people are pretty relaxed. The only people who are annoying usually are the construction crews at the project sites.

Good thing about jobs is they eat up a lot of your time, so you have less time to stew in your thoughts. You can also develop some sense of accomplishment or belonging. The downside is you are absorbed into normie life. You will hear about people's dogs, husbands, brothers, girlfriends and whatnot and they will figure out quickly you have no life whatsoever.

I knew a guy who was sociable and pretty normal but for whatever reason was a 25 year old NEET who just started attending community college. He had a girlfriend but she broke it off with him. Usually those guys only succeed in high school or early-mid twenties. It's hard to justify being a NEET later in life and it becomes a disqualifier.

Jobs will just reject you because you don't have experience, they'll just say you don't have the exact experience they want and then reject you. Even if you do have experience there's 10,000 other applicants who can outcompete you. I'm an incel ofc but it's still way easier to get a gf than a job.
