It's LDAR'ing on Amazon at the moment. People I show it to say it's good, but it's not getting sales, and the book reviewers I contacted who said they were interested and would get around to it aren't getting around to it.

One of the main characters is a kind-hearted incel who gets a oneitis and tries to seduce her, but ends up creeping her out instead and getting friendzoned. I think a lot of you guys would relate.

Third person limited. Standard for the genre.

It takes place in a militaristic feudal empire that got fragmented after its ruling dynasty got wiped out during a civil war. The three main characters are royals from the leftover kingdoms (the incel is the king's bastard).

You could enoll in Kindle Unlimited and read it for free. I still get money for pages read through Kindle Unlimited.

How long was the book? How long did it take you to write it? Do you plan to write more?

It's just above 151,000 words; 644 print pages. It took over a year and a half with ample free time per day, but it would've taken longer if I had less. It's the first book of a series I had planned.

There are two ways you can go about this.

You can write your book/novel, then do promotion and marketing, hoping it gets popular enough to get a manga adaptation.

Or you can write a screenplay and pay an artist to turn it into a manga.

In either case, you will need years of practice before you write anything even remotely publishable. And even then, if your premise isn't marketable, at least to a specific niche if not the general audience for your genre, you're shit out of luck even if the execution is entirely on point.

Paid marketing and sponsorship is a waste of money for books that don't have any reviews. Readers base whether they'll buy a book on reviews, leaving new authors in a catch-22 scenario where they don't get sales because they don't get reviews, and they don't get reviews because they don't get sales. The only way out is to query book reviewers in hopes they'll accept and review your book, but pretty much all of them are wishy-washy femoids and nu-males who value their Soylent more than their word.
