on Linux you have to install software from so called packages. There are different package types etc...
there are different methods to install software
and there are these software repositories that you can go to to download and install the packages
snap store is one of them and its notoriously fucking shit

As @Knajjd said, you can also download the package yourself and install it,
but most people will just search for the package download on an online store and just install from there
But the version of firefox you can download from snap store is incredibly shit. It shuts down, has internal problems,
its hard to uninstall because it comes automatically with certain versions of linux
