I wish that when you died, you became a ghost and lurked for a set amount of time and can interact with the physical world in the typical ghost ways, the amount of time you lurk would be determined by various factors. And then your spirit would disappear from existence entirely, marking your true actual death. A spirit’s power would be determined by how strong their emotional ties to this world are and or their unfinished business. Whether that be simply wanting to say goodbye to someone or let someone know something, vengeance, waiting for something, etc.
A stronger spirit would have a stronger and more noticeable presence and stronger abilities, and could be potentially dangerous depending on who that person is. A weaker spirt would have a weaker and less noticeable presence, along with weaker power, a weak spirt could be as simple as seeing an odd shadow in the house once a year or something or noticing a misplaced pencil.
