I've watched those shows and movies where the boy is congratulated by his family, usually an energetic and proud dad, for bringing his girlfriend home. Now he is seen as more mature, a man in the making.

I will never experience that awkward moment of blushing and being all shy in front of my parents because of the girl. I will never have my dad shake my hand and say he's proud of me. My mom will never tell me how cute and nice she thinks my girlfriend is.
