that's ok fren and no it's not you but crap anime's fault; because chainsawman is indeed watered down pozzed anime;
if you want to compare go to subreddit of chainsawman and find preview clips vs actual anime releases; preview ones were like how fans interpreted it from manga vs release ones were just...meh
even the guys who worked in making of it admitted it was crap
someone was also citing this regd too much rotoscoping effects, cutdown on promised CGI vs what we got actually (pic above)
Mappa intentionally replaced 2D animation in it with 3D-CGI because they invested into their own in-house CG department
there were reports suggesting in Japan manga sales for Chainsawman literally dropped in thousands after first episode got released dem japs themselves were not approving it much, what else to say
oh and WORST OFFENSE OF ALL, FUCKING CENSORSHIP WHEN MAKIMA STRIPPED IN FRONT OF DENJI
THEY LITERALLY PREVIEWD LEWD ONE, BUT RELEASED A SCENE WHERE SHE REMAINED CLOTHED

so yeah, adoption isn't much faithful
BTW some things to keep in mind before going ahead with ANY anime or manga;
when Shinzo Abe was alive; his govt passed certain restrictive laws on manga-anime et al that prohibited certain themes being depicted in them; control over nudity etc also in it AND ALSO, NO GENOCIDE PROMOTING DEPICTIONS!
^this is prime reason entire Shingeki no Kyojin // Attack of Titan went to dogshit as once these laws were passed Isayama literally lost many of his sponsors, even studio working on it backed off from it so he wrote last 20 some chapters in shear anger and ;don't give a fuck anymore; attitude to wind it all up and how it gave one of the most shitty ending of any anime out there is well known among fans
due to all these you can consider it's almost over for otakus and anime-manga fans alike; we may not get our dopamine inducing themes like before anymore in these because it got all pozzed by Shinzo Abe
