No but I grew up in the US, did pre-school and elementary school here, I should have an american accent or ideally no accent at all. But I grew up in a city full of curries, and somehow I couldn't pick up the right accent.

I know of curries like that. Unless you are born in the US and not near a lot of curries you will likely pick up the curry accent.
But curries without accents aren't much better. There's no accent for your face.

If you couldn't pick up the American accent in spite of living in the US all of your life, it means two things:

1. You probably lived in an insular ethnic enclave, with little to no interaction with whites.
2. You didn't watch enough media to pick up the accent.
3. You have a learning disability of some kind. (Autists tend to have this)

True of all 3, autism is the social learning disability.

I think women and most people find the thick FOB indian accent disgusting. I've spoken with a few Indians with slight British accent and they sound completely fine imo.
But in the end it about face tbh.

Brutal, my idiot parents moved to curryland for 3 years during the recession and I was basically forced to adopt the curry accent, even now its tough to get rid of it. Although the real problem I have is a soy voice.
