I was at 16, completely brainwashed by the media I consumed and the "education" system (though I was always anti-Islam on grounds that it was anti-LGBT, anti-feminist, anti-libertarian etc., I could never square the circle as to why the "left" defended Islam in those days, which initially prompted my shift to the "right").

In order for the economy to work, bussinesses have to have a decent degree of autonomy and independence, too much interventionism ruins the ecosystem of the economy, studying history is enough to see socialism is a repetitive failure.

Helping the poor isn't easy when you're not a professional economist, only people who study the economy as professionals have a decent idea of how to help the poor without ruining everything.

Right now I'd consider myself libertarian (pro-freedom), nationalist, traditionalist and capitalist.

Back then... libertarian, nationalist (I just never spoke about it because I assumed that everyone was that way), 50/50 progressive/traditionalist, and capitalist but with a lot of social programs thrown in, like healthcare and welfare.

So I've moved to the right but I was never as far to the left as I thought I was.
