Often I sit there because I don't want to stand for hours waiting for my bus.
On the last Monday there was this new guy working as a waiter (and there's always only one as it's not a big place) and after almost 3 hours of me sitting there and after everyone else has left he offered to buy me a drink (a lemonade). I was initially trying to persuade him I don't want one but I give in because I didn't want to disappoint him or look like a paranoid chicken. But when he brought me the lemonade I didn't take a sip and left soon — bus was in just under an hour so I figured I could stand waiting on the station for that short time. He didn't take a notice.
What he did was just very weird and unexpected to me and I was afraid he or the girl working as a barista (also never saw her before; she made the drink) might have put something in it
My question is: was I justified in thinking like this or was it probably nothing? And is it common for staff to do something like this?
P.S. In my country we generally don't tip people working in such places (like waiters) because they have a regular salary just like everyone else.
