It started off with buying the most expensive editions of video games when I would save allowances, but slowly morphed into buying electronics/phones and further into clothing that costs hundreds of dollars a piece from people selling from obscure brands that went out of business decades ago and are kept as novelty. I bought some expensive figurines and plushies before, but not as much as things like unnecessarily expensive clothing.

I still am under the impression that if you seriously enjoy it and it brings you happiness, simply purchase it. I benefited way more from purchasing expensive things I liked than just fantasizing about getting them.

Completely unrelatable brain chemistry. I am miserly by default. I am overcome with guilt if something expensive I bought turns out to be not that useful. And I spend a lot of time overthinking about if I actually need something I am buying.
