I've just looked at my stock portfolio today and I haven't seen such a big hit since the fall of Lehman Brothers.
Whether or not Corona-chan is the real deal does not matter I think : people believe in her now and that's enough to trigger hysteria.
That and the upcoming US election, the raging culture war, decades of artificial support of Western economies by central banks, all the stars seem aligned for an imminent collapse.
I have no proof whatsoever, I just have a feeling.
