I hated math in school for 2 reasons.
1. You needed to memorize a lot of stuff. I was really undisciplined and all I wanted to do is come home and play runescape or WoW, so of course I didn't memorize anything, only falling behind more and more when it came to math. Well, I wasn't that bad at it, but I did need to get tutored at a certain point because my grades weren't that great in math.
2. Attention span. For math you need to focus, think about the problem, use what you learned etc... I just got too bored, couldn't focus very well.
But now, I think I'd actually enjoy learning math. My brain feels the need to improve at something, to learn a useful skill, to solve puzzles. But it's too late now. I'd just be wasting my time at this age. I'd also probably never get anywhere with it.
I wish I had this mindset 10 years ago.
