The Ukrainians and NATO mercenaries can basically freely move around the Ukraine although the country is so vast it takes days and days to move around it.

NATO will not openly engage Russia.
The ukranian army has been able to mount a solid defence via utter russian incompetence/high motivation/ample man carried anti tank/anti air systems/striking russian supply columns.

with that being said: they lack the means of numbers/air power/armor to mount any substantial offensive operations against the russian army if it assumes a defensive stance.

Why be badly bloodied on the offensive, if you are doing much much better bleeding the russian army dry of vehicles/supplies?
