my immediately previous ex had also been Asian (the first I'd ever dated). We broke up and I coincidentally happened to date another Asian woman not long afterward. Immediately all of my friends and acquaintances started making comments about how I have a "type" and a few (all Asian women) said I had an Asian fetish

Eventually it all got to me. I'm normally not one to care about shit like this, but it felt like I was becoming stereotyped and there was nothing I could do about it. It's also not like I'm in any way the stereotypical WMAF guy: I've never really had problems with dating, I'm attractive, outgoing, etc. I'm not even in tech! But it's as if everyone completely forgot about all of that and suddenly pretended I was some yellow fever incel who stalked Asian women.
