You should try Claymore, its dark and pretty spooky. Its about Ancient Knights Comprised of Women who fights demons, or can transform to demons themselves after they go to the dark side.

If your looking for a huge depression kick/uplifting roller coaster, I highly recommend Gurren Lagann.
