No whatsapp, no loyalty apps, no pestering you to use apps, no updates and... it was so easy to just disconnect. You'd just close your laptop or turn off the PC. Plus phones looked really cool. Flip phones and stuff.

Smartphones are handy for sure but... they're definitely a double-edged sword.
