Yeah yeah I know, ancient history at this point and it's been a porn-dump board for the past like 15 years, but god damnit I miss the /b/ from the mid to late 2000s, back when it truly lived up to being "random".
I miss the old otaku culture that 4chan used to have. I miss the days when 4chan was on the cutting edge of internet culture. The originality dried up a long time ago. They've been doing wojak and pepe variants for like 13 years now. It lost it's cultural bite a long time ago and now it's just imageboard reddit.

Yeah /h/, and /b/ were my go to for that, /fit/ was fun from time to time as well. The jannies were fucking terrible though, constant spam and thirst baiting.

That board was garbage. There's nothing even random about it. Whenever I went there, it was guaranteed the ONLY thing I would see was porn.
Yeah it's been nothing but porn since like 2010. But 2006-2009 /b/ was something different entirely. It had it's own unique culture. So many of the internet memes of that era originated on /b/.
4chan will eventually return, but the forum is also a playground for feds.
The closest thing to the original 4chan that exists now is probably Kiwi Farms as they are diehard free speech absolutists and unlike 4chan they actively mock troons and trans culture in general, so it helps keep the troons out.
