that's how the majority of them work. even if u isolate out the pure romcoms for guys like oregairu, bunny girl senpai, golden time and masamune kun's revenge, love triangle does not equal harem. the ecchi harem genre with 4-5 love targets is distinct and are mass produced (like highschool dxd and oreshura). regardless romcoms in general are ass my only stance is that shojo romcoms are consistently unwatchable.

Similarly the fls in harems are just as archetypal as the mls in reverse harems.
