it makes me want to catch a flight to Japan and break all of the author's fingers :reeeeee::reeeeee::reeeeee::reeeeee::reeeeee:. Especially when the series had decent characters, a good premise, or setting and its potential was single handedly slaughtered by the MC (looking at you Subaru).

Thinking about it, the only "romance" anime that didn't ever leave this feeling was Spice and Wolf. Which is not a romance anime. But it only had the lead female character throughout the series. I kinda like less haremy shows

I've never watched slice of life or romance, but whenever there is a slice of life episode inside a shonen I watch I really love it. I wonder if that would translate into me liking a full slice of lie anime, or if I only like those because I take a break from the plot. Also have always wanted to watch a romance, but I know it would make me depressed, especially since they're usually about high schoolers.

Haven’t watched an romance/shoujo anime in a long time, the last time I did though was kaguya sama, which was like around 2-3 years ago.

This is how I feel watching anything with a loving couple
After a long time of watching good series, i've been consumed and now i enjoy trash things as well. I dunno it's like you can appreciate a trashy series with some good points. I also liked oreimo a lot and have a soft spot for incest so that helps too, i would not recommend this series unless you like incest + romance and drama, so yeahme watching till I ended up dropping a few episodes in.
I can't stand immoral things like infidelity and heroines with double digit bodycounts.
