One of my favorite Batman villains was the Idiot from an early-'90s 4-part miniseries called The Idiot Root. It is about a monster formed from the combined ids of four catatonic mental patients in a psychic world that was accessed using a root from a plant native to the Amazon jungle called the idiot root as it had psychoactive properties.

The Idiot's plane of existence looked like a nightmarish bad acid trip and he literally ate the minds of anybody who accessed his world by consuming the idiot root rendering them mindless empty shells. Eventually, the Idiot grew powerful enough to where he could physically-manifest in the real world by gruesomely bursting out of the heads of people who had their minds eaten by him.

The Idiot was a fun villain as he came off as being a dadaistic absurdist who remarked on the "flavors" of people's minds as he ate them like a professional chef. While the Idiot had no master plan other than gobbling as many people's minds as he could he was very cunning and difficult to stop.
