I kinda had a bad impression of Lord of the Rings
But I got interested after playing Shadow of Mordor and reading Tolkien's biography
He was cool as fuck, a veteran of the worst battle of WW1, a polyglot, he created his own languages
That made me think that his works could actually have interesting things, and in fact they do, I didn't know that all those movies/shows/anim that have elves, dwarves, orcs use the versions that Tolkien created of these creatures
It was the first book I read, and I didn't imagine that reading books could actually be fun
I also bought four other books by him that I will also read.

Nice, what other four books did you buy?

"He charged the ranks of the goblins of Mount Gram in the Battle of Green Fields, and knocked their King Golfimbul's head clean off with a wooden club. It sailed a hundred yards through the air and went down a rabbit hole, and in this way the battle was won and the game of golf was invented in the same moment." Hahahaha

I have a copy of Silmarillion yet haven’t even read it

I have readed it too a long time ago

I just remember the part in the forest

Great book that got stretched out into 3 movies for some reason. Definitely recommend reading/watching lord of the rings some of the best media ever made.

Extended edition or theatrical? They're some of my favorite films of all time, peter jackson did a great job adapting all 3 books
