Today in my university class a normiescum, as usual has been bullying this gigatruecel (2/10) and has called him incel,the first time I heard this word irl. One of his bullies have called him "incel" today.
That gigatruecel is a jestermaxxed who doesn't realize his "friends" are actually bullying him. Today they have been all the day mocking his appearance and have forced him to create an Instagram account, post photos of his subhuman face "to get girls" and they have repost his subhumanity on Instagram. The worst part is that this guy thinks they are his friends and he is some kind of funny guy .
I would tell him about it but probably wouldn't believe me, would tell that to "his friends" and they would target me too .
Seriously, they are laughing at him every single second and he still thinks they are his friends.

the first time I heard someone say the word incel outside of the internet was in april of 2018. I was at the airport about to board a plane when I overheard the newscaster on one of the big tv screens say that an incel (alek minassian) had committed a terrorist attack in canada. It actually made me say "wtf" out loud because I had browsed sluthate, lookism, r9k, r/incels, etc... back in the day and couldn't imagine the term ever escaping that corner of the web. it was very jarring in the moment and felt to me like some kind of wall separating the internet and real life had been broken. yeah, I guess ER would have been the first time incels leaked into the news cycle but that was before the culture war had kicked into full swing so it didn't really make a big splash. after the AM incident though, the media tried to frame incels in the context of the alt-right and that's when normal people started talking about them.
