One aspect of illusions is that it induces biological effects somehow. Those biological effects (such as dopamine secretion as you stated) aren't illusive themselves (you perfectly feel them), but their origin is. That's what I meant.
Regarding love, I'd say that it's an illusion just by looking how it ends for most passionate stories. Sure, some people manage to escape the habitual twist (separation), but the few do not describe the many and honestly, these cases (people staying together) aren't only about love. A kind of weird friendship based on true understanding was also born and unlike love, I do think that friendship is not an illusion.
Though, finding it to be sincere is extremely rare nowadays.
So yes, you're right, dopamine is not an illusion. Its origin (love) is somehow (psychologically wise).
Well following your logic everything is an illusion then, you never see what is really real, it is your brain interpretation of sensory inputs, even colors are simply different wavelengths which your brain rearrange into colors.
