Anytime I come to my father with life problems, it is time for him to act stoic, "tough love", accusing me of not trying, being lazy, ungrateful, spoiled. Then we are in public together, there are women around, suddenly, he is a jester, singing and dancing in public, cracking jokes and incapable of being serious. So you can be emotional, to entertain strangers, to make jokes at my expense. Why can't you show me some sympathy when I need it, and why do you act like a child when i'd rather you just be serious? infuriating
