I hate bloom effect

Whoever popularized bloom deserves the worst. It makes games absolutely hideous and tedious to play.

It's an assault on the eyes. I want to appreciate a games visuals. I don't want bright blurry light forcing me to squint. I dropped monster hunter world and Wind Waker HD because it was genuinely giving me a headache.

I wish games would include the option to turn it off so I don't get a migraine.

Bloom, depth of field (should be only used when game has inventory screen to focus on your character), chromatic abomination , gaytracing, motion blur are all shit and i always disable them only exception are occasional racing game which may look better with motion blur.

Only good effects they've added in past 20 years are Ambient Occlusion, Global Illumination, subsurface scattering (light coming through the skin), Bump Mapping (devs got lazy and no longer use them with faked shadows and faked depth to save performance while making game look good ) and PBR (so metal would look like shiny metal and not like a flat texture)
