1996-2006 was the golden era of football for me. I followed it religiously back then. Unfortunately, it all went downhill since then until I basically stopped watching.

The game became centered too much around ridiculously overpaid offensive players who are protected by the refs. Also the few extremely rich clubs take almost everything.

I remember how great and competitive Seria A and La liga were around 2000. Even Bundesliga was fun to watch back then. Now you just have Real, Barca, Bayern and Juventus.

super cup is a glorified friendly cup JFL. thats why its played at the start of the season between the winners of the previous seasons Champions league and Europa League.
