I’ve always prided myself on being relatively good at not just writing, but speaking English fluently (on par with a native speaker, if I do say so myself), having learned the language entirely on my own thanks to videogames and high exposure to overall western media, but on an academic level, I don’t think I can ever go toe to toe with those who study it professionally (e.g., the roasties who outscored you). They’re usually more preoccupied with it than I am, considering that most of my textbook reading is in native.

its obvious every language is wide asf...there are diferent fields/purposes for a language like english: englsih for academic purposes/occupational purposes/english for nurses/english for engineers etc.
so we cant be proficient in all that shit
