Pretty babies get more positive attention, get their needs attended to first, get to see more smiling faces, are given more time, are handlerd with soft movements, hear soft friendly voices, etc.
Ugly babies get neglected, see frowning faces, are given less contact time, harsher treatment, hear nagging voices, handled with jerky and careless movements.
All these differences in treatment starting in the first hours after birth deeply influence neurological development of the kid, into a confident and carefree kid, or a shy, fearful and preoccupied kid.
I was born with an asymmetric face, big nose, and big ears. Your typical sperg face. I was an
ugly baby.
While other kids received rockstar treatment from nurses and even from their own mothers, I was treated as a burden, as a piece of shit by nurses and even from my own mother.
I was mogged by other newborn babies in the maternity ward seconds after birth.
