The media aka squidward hypes us up as a threat(even though unlike squidward, they aren't joking). Normies become scared like spongebob. It turns out all we aren't a threat and just want romance and are sometimes a tad awkward. I'm sure someone can put Nustrafu in the metaphor somewhere.
