I don’t get why more criminals don’t just rope before they get arrested if they know they’re going down for over several decades

Like for example, the Charlie Kirk killer. Had he roped instead of thinking he could outsmart the police, he’d be resting right now having claimed Charlie Kirk’s life and gotten away with it. instead now he is stuck in a box 24/7, suicide proof cell. Going to prison is a fate much worse than death, he’s probably going mad as we speak from that level of isolation. Not to mention the long, seemingly endless list of why prisons and jails suck.

I mean hell, even if you got corned and you know you’re going down big time, might as well go out in a blaze of glory. You’re already dead if you’re going away for so long, the world will move on without you. By the time you do get out, IF you get out. You’ll be a completely different person in world that’s advanced on you.

There are cases of criminals who were gonna rope but broke out of prison. Imagine if they roped?

As long as your alive you can still technically get out of jail.

Now back to yhe hypothetical "Imagine if Jeremy Meek roped".

He would miss out on fame and fortune. As much as we hate the guy he is a good example of the cons of roped vs prison.

Same reason why incels don't kill themselves despite knowing that they'll be incels forever. Survival instinct and hope are too strong to overcome.
