Unconsciously I just know and feel they are meant to be watched and enjoyed with someone else, not viewed alone. It's not like a book where only one person can consume it. Part of the experience of enjoying a film or show is someone else sitting next to you going through the same emotions and feelings according to what is on screen.
This sucks because I used to be a media hoarder of shows and movies and now I'm left with empty hard drives, TBs of space unused, waste of money, waste of resources. I'm just gonna stick to books.
