Seriously, what is it about people on Reddit that is just so offputting? Aside from the socially awkward, repetitive, retarded comment chains that try too hard to be funny and the endless "my girlfriend is fucking another man in front of me right now, should I divorce her or stay with her?" threads, the fact that the entire community is a hivemind of middle-class white liberal cancer just makes the entire site unbearable. They always quarantine and ban subreddits that don't agree with their political views, ironically becoming the same oppressive dictatorship that they protest against in the first place. White-knighting and feminist comments get upvoted thousands of times, but god forbid you say something even slightly conservative, or you'll be downvoted to hell and brigaded in the thread and probably even banned from the subreddit entirely. I can think of no other website that makes me nauseous just browsing through it. Reddit and its community has truly gone downhill in the past few years.

I think politics are shit now because of the internet tbh. In the 2000s less people used the internet (though around the mid to late 00's is when the internet started getting more and more infiltrated by normies tbh) Now everyone thinks their political ideas matter and they think they are a lot smarter and educated than they are. Also there are a lot of thought bubbles now, back in the day I think you could voice controversial opinions and ideas more. Now you just get silenced because normies get mad and advertisers don't want to be associated.

IRC chats and esoteric forums in the early 2000s were the best. I was looking back at one of those ancient usenet sites back when the internet was first born, and holy shit, every reply to the forum thread was so articulate and well-written, like an entire academic essay. You'd be hard pressed to find that kind of quality on the internet nowadays.

I essentially agree with you. You should see girlsaskguys.com some time. They ACTIVELY censor any comments remotely critical of feminism even as women/girls there talk about cutting off men's penises or torching them (while LOL-ing). Or YouTube that admits it censor comments, even polite ones, against women because they feel they have a social moral responsibility to promote women (YT official reply to one of my inquiries about why my comment with supporting published evidence was removed). Throughout the Western world, if you have y-chromosomes now, you're good for mainly three things: (1) procreation (until they find another way), (2) financial support of the state and children, & (3) being meat-machines to do hated work--whether it's back-breaking manual labor or being cannon fodder for governments' militaries. Unless, of course, you're in the minuscule Golden Demographic and hold inherent value to enough other people.
