I was wanting to read some new manga and got interested in that one but as soon as the girl started being super blunt about her feelings torwards the good- and young-looking, professionally-accomplished pretty boy and he started brushing her off I felt so bad I had to drop it.

On the other hand I absolutely loved this one:

...which is about an old and ugly loser finding love with a blonde JB. As unrealistic as it is, it makes me feel so fucking good.

I hope I'm not forced to read romance books where the guy is a Chad who doesn't care about the girl who loves him in college. It fucking hurts to read about fat guys being offered good food and refusing it while you starve.

Don't most romance stories involve decent or good looking people, even the "nerdy guy"? Atleast that's what impression I get from movies /shows.

Maybe beauty and the beast is the exception though I don't know completely how that story goes.

I like it. But it has to be extremely unrealistic and I must identify with the guy for me to enjoy.

In Miman Renai, the ugly loser protagonist meets the blonde JB who doesn't care about his age and ugliness and he becomes obsessed about her and does everything he can to be with her, including pretty crazy/unreasonable shit. This is how I would act as well, so I identified a lot.

As soon as the first romantic scene took place in that manga I tried to read I could 100% tell a woman wrote it, I hadn't checked about it before starting reading.

Women fawn over gl guys and absolutely ignore everyone else in a way that makes me feel so fucking bad. It's not like men, who desire attractive women more than average or below women but would still fuck even the below average ones mostly.
