My feelings are dead.
I see the homeless people and I don’t care.
I see tragedies on the news and I don’t care.
I don’t care if China nukes an American city.
In fact, it might actually entertain me for a couple days…..until I get tired of hearing about it.
I do obey the law. But only because I don’t want to go to jail.
I am nice to other people. But only because I don’t want to make things harder on myself.
What is right is defined as that which benefits me.
What is wrong is defined as that which harms me.
What has done this to me?
A lifetime of loneliness. Countless days in my own world of social isolation.
