I'm currently coping by watching anime. Right now I'm watching Attack on Titan. There's this one character, Levi, who is one of the strongest characters in the series in terms of skill and fighting prowess. He's short and this one character, Mikasa, keeps making comments about his short height, calling him runt and pipsqueak. You cant even be one of humanity's greatest soliders without being mocked for your height.
