I always found that statement very weird.

In Exodus God tells Moses upon his question who he is, just that.

I am existence itself, that's what i am.

That's at least how i always interpreted it. I am not a believer in the abrahamic religions, but i found that statement always very striking.

It's a bit like Brahman in the Upanishads

@Krad

What do you think about this? I found this passage the most interesting in the first testament.

You shall not have representations or idols of me, for i am not to be understood with these.

Would make sense he introduces himself as Existence himself rather than an actual person/deity.

I Believe He Is The Truth, And Truth Is God, And The Truth Is Good. And all that is Trueful, Good And Eternal Is In Him.

Yeah, i get that since you are a Christian.

What do you think in general about the whole first testament as a Christian? Jesus himself at least in the John evangelium gospel said to not be here to revoke all that has been said before him - that he in fact was before Moses was, paying credence to the prophecy of the first testament. How do you generally explain this stark contrast of the god in the first testament vs. the second? Just curious.

What God did was neither tyranical, nor contradictory nor any demerit, instead we were to met God personaly, from close, and from close, God both created Israel, and died for it, making all His promesies true and the moral and what was in the first testament does not erases, He completed it, and what was the principle (the moral, what is right and wrong, the relationship with God and His presence) stays forever to all nations.

To many God may have seem harsh, but fighting nor being a warrior was never evil, neither defending yourself nor punishing the wicked.

We are on different pages on this one, both theologically and ethically. Which is fine. Thanks for sharing though.

Understood you are a person that is very open minded, for someone who is called goat, you are sheep, take this as a compliment.
