Even when i was 17, when I didn't believe looks mattered, when I believed I just needed confidence and to keep getting good grades. I remember my internal monologue finding the idea of me ever being happy ridiculous.
Any sorta of normal life fantasy seemed to not fit. Part of me believed the world would end before I became an adult. I don't know why I thought that but I did.
I think deep down, despite societal brainwashing, we all can assess ourselves and know the truth.

Same, I realised that happiness was an illusion around 13-14 yo.
