I'm on a disability welfare program and can basically NEET till the day I die (or until the government's money runs out, whatever comes first).
That being out of the way, I totally agree with you on the positives of NEETdom. Especially the part about sleeping whenever you want.
I've had my depressive phases as well, but these have largely subsided. Strangely, only when I cut off the last of my responsibilities (trying to work a shitty parttime office job) and swallowed the whole did I become truly free and happy. Now I spend my days reading, walking the dog, studying music theory and composition, watching my favorite movies and tv series, and posting on various forums. My family is worried that I lead a somewhat empty existence, but what do they know. Let them think whatever they want, I'm going my own way in life.
