People who humblebrag are usually people who have nothing to offer anyone.

It's mostly women.
Women complaining about cat calling, being asked on dates at work are bragging about their SMV.
If they were forced to live life as an ugly man, they'd be happy if someone catcalled them or asked them out

They want to brag while avoiding the (perceived) social stigma against egotism. Which doesn't work, by the way. The studies prove that humble-bragging is hated even more than both overt bragging and overt self-depreciation. If you want to brag, grow a pair and just brag. Humble-bragging comes across as duplicitous and insecure.
