how the FUCK do you drift in redout 2 ?!

I keep getting stuck against a wall
I tried moving both analog sticks but it doesn't turn enough

so I'm stuck on the 1st fucking mission

Move the sticks in opposite directions. I am a veteran of this masterpiece.

this is for the first game but it mostly applies to redout 2 as well

turns out the right stick needs to be move sideways and up. the more up the sharper drift
