In the past, autism was blamed on "refrigerator parenting," where the parents of autistic children allegedly didn't show enough affection for them. Now ignorant people tend to blame autism on "helicopter parenting," where the parents are overprotective.

These are two sides of the same flawed, psychogenic etiology. Autism is neurological and it's demonstrable. If I livestreamed my room, one could observe all of my autistic mannerisms and see clearly that my brain works differently. Just look up "stimming."

I am not "incapable of adjusting" as if that's my fault; I was incapable of adjusting from the start. OP needs to check his neurotypical privilege; it is blinding him to the reality of our lived experiences. We are just as subhuman as any sub-4 male.
