1080p at the absolute bare minimum
1080p 60fps is perfection. Can run on any gaming system whether mediocre or high-tier and will provide a stable fps and overall performance.

Depends on the size of the screen. Bare minimum 720p for mobile and 19 inch, 1080p for up to 27 inch and 2k for above. Obviously its better to have the highest as even on phones i can tell clearly the difference between 1080p vs 2k.

The lower you go there Will be 75fps choices if you want to vsync a faster frame rate at the cost of resolution. You dont lose much though, crispy 3D color configuration is Key.

1440p
1080p for old pre 2020 games. 1440p is bare minimum for 95% of modern gaymes that use awful TAA (If it can't be disabled and game relies on it to render effects and hair) at 1080p shit is too blurry and i stopped caring about those games. Surprisingly new Digimon game can disable TAA and still use MSAA what a miracle so 1080p is fine, while for example Stellar Blade looks like total ass on AMD card like you play at 480p despite having 1080p res picked up, so i uninstalled game after my game broke after trying to install couple of mods. Screw that game, combat sucked too it's just yet another soulslike, it's not like Digimon is any better it's jrpg slop but at least it's sharp and runs great.

On my 43 inch tv I go as low as need be to get the original experience.
For example in PS1 games which I emulate.
But there I turn on that scanline filter anyway for that extra OG experience.

I agree. All modern games on even 720p have choppy and jagged edges, look horrible. It's all about immersion and the game not looking distorted in the end.

1080p is fine as long as monitor is not bigger than 23 inches, 1440p is probably the best middle ground. 4k is overkill and even the most expensive graphics cards on the market can barely reach playable FPS in modern slop games without using frame generation and upscaling.
1440p is really good, but playing on a 4K oled TV is something else
