Discussion How much of alcoholism is genetics?

Tried alcohol twice but never quite got it. Given how depressed I've become and the time I came close to roping, it's interesting that I never got into drugs or alcohol. Only major addiction I got is porn.

smoking is genetic , all my uncles were chainsmokers including father but none of their sons or my brothers smoke it except a few .
