I followed the guide on looksmaxx.org. My profile pic is normie like, not Patrick Bateman or some shit. If you have a decent enough hairline you can take a pic infront of a mirror covering half your head, that's what my profile pic.
As for gaining followers if you don't have any at all, follow family, colleagues, classmates or people you know if in general. They will probably follow you back. Also there's a chrome extension to see who isn't following you so you can unfollow them. This is important to keep the ratio followers/following bigger than 1 (having more followers than people you are following).
After that take a look at the followers list of people who follow you and look for people that don't have that ratio i spoke of. Try to follow mostly these kind of people, spam for 15-30 minutes a day. I pretty much expanded my follower count 3x times in 4 months what i usually had. Suffice to say, this strategy works. Btw i have 550 now, so i can upload posts that maybe reach 100 likes, but i'm too lazy to pester someone to take pics of me. And i don't have any idea how to make them look good i.e. hide my flaws.
