Conversational AI could become very lifelike quite soon. And body movements are animated with AI already.
The haptic feedback technology is not that good yet. But this could be a question of demand. If more and more people invest into it, then we might be able to build a suit or a chamber or something, that can simulate physical touch. It should be able to simulate air flow, how water feels, etc etc. We're far away from that.
And then there is smell which I guess shouldn't be that hard. Just use parfume or something inside a chamber. Once you enter a different scenario in VR. The old chemicals that produce the smell will be sucked out with a ventilation system and new appropriate parfumes will be injected.
Tasting something in VR might be more difficult. But also not that important I guess.
