Theres a significant difference between "ugly" and "not attractive"

Have you ever been told youre ugly or gotten reactions such as "Ewww no" from girls when someone in high school in a friend group said "Hey stacy you should go out with Aarvind"?

OR

Have you not necessarily been told straight up youre ugly, however, youve still never attracted any interest and have always been politely rejected/dismissed by girls but without much of an explanation why?

Actually ugly people have it much harder I think, because if youre just "not attractive" aka very plain in look, men and women will simply be indifferent to you, heck you may even make some friends without much problem.

but if youre ugly, both men and women will ***actively*** go out of their way to avoid you in every possible way, and both men and women will make an effort to NOT be friends with you.


Which one do you guys think you are?


Both unattractive men and ugly men will get no extra attention from society and nobody will really give a shit about them, but being invisible is perhaps somewhat better than being targeted for avoidance by the entire world

No but I mean like, if youre not attractive, then you simply don't elicit any feeling in people walking by, and you dont attract attention, you're just part of the background people dont notice

I think ugly is different because you actually attract negative attention and elicit feelings of discomfort and "ew wtf" when people look at your face. For example, the "ew wtf is with your face" reaction most people get when they see Eggy.

Very true. Ugly people get negative attention while unattractive people are neutral (ie invisible). It's always better the latter than the former.

I probably more ugly than just plain unattractive. This is because i notice girls facial reactions to me tend to be visceral. They are repulsed by me. I feel like some even choose to walk on the other side of the street or avoid eye contact altogether. Jokes and memes aside, my life is more depressing than like 80-85% of the ppl on this forum... and that says a lot.
