Title question. Media shows us as this terrorist group, but are we that? I can think of very few shooters from the top of my head.

It’s surprising that there aren’t more.
If anything we’re proportionally less violent given the hand we’re dealt.

No connections
Plenty of reasons to be angry
A specific group to be angry at
Etc.

can only think of Marc Lépine, ER, Minassian and Scott Beierle

Not even close to the number of gang-related shootings. I mean, you really have to stretch the definition of "incel shooting" just even to try quantifying it, and there's no universal definition of the term.

Elliot Rodger is the one "quintessential" incel shooter who ticks all the boxes (motive, ideology, identity, and relationship history) but evaluating other mass shooters get much shakier from there.

Marc Lépine may have been a misogynist, but his attack was in the 1980s and he never self-described as an "incel" because the terminology wasn't even around yet. Alek Minassian technically didn't shoot anyone—he ran them over with a rental van—and in any case the sentencing judge was of the opinion that he was motivated by attention-seeking, not inceldom. And Scott Beierle not only had a brief fling with a German woman while he was in the U.S. Army, but also went on over a dozen dates in 2013 alone.

This. Many of the so called incel shooter have no affiliation with incel community or identity. They might be "virgin but not incel" shooters though, lol.

I remember Cho, ER, Jake Davison (Plymouth shooter), Sodini, Alek Minassian (debatable), Faisal Hussain.

Others here have said the texas shooter, Chris Harper Mercer, Scott Beierle. Marc Lepine, Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris happened before the rise of this community, they are protocels.

That's 9 so far. If we consider ER's attack in 2014 to be the first then that's 1 per year since then.

Michael Ryan, a 27 year old virgin, went ER in 1987 in the UK.

We need more incel mass shooters
