If the US army invades Canada in order to annex it, how many days will Canada last?
The UK’s army is barely operational at this point. Doubt their involvement would make a differenceIf the UK joins then It's gonna last a bit longer.
Australia and New Zealand might join. Not saying much but, if it happens it can hit a close 3.The UK’s army is barely operational at this point. Doubt their involvement would make a difference
Peace talk a means of reducing escalation. It dose not change after they agree to not fight.Immediate peace talks cause we are way better and have nukes
they won't, nobody would resist U.S taking Canada and GreenlandAustralia and New Zealand might join. Not saying much but, if it happens it can hit a close 3.
Would most Canadians have resisted in the Ukrainian style of 2022? Like they started preparing Molotov cocktails to throw them at US Army equipment?0, i believe nobody would resist there
noWould most Canadians have resisted in the Ukrainian style of 2022?
I asked this question because of how often Trump calls Canada the 51st state of the United States, and Trudeau its governor. Perhaps this is some kind of irony or a joke.0. Their military is a joke and very few Canadians are actually willing to die for their country
Yes, but the US population is much larger, so the US also has more military power, plus the US, in the event of an invasion, can stretch the Canadian army on two fronts, one front from Alaska, and the other from the wide border.Probably about 2yrs max. Keep in mind that Canda is part of the common wealth.
A group of countries that were once occupied by Britain. If the UK joins then It's gonna last a bit longer.
This is an alternative history question.irrelevant question because this will never happen
As 2022 has shown a stronger power can be temporally out matched.Yes, but the US population is much larger, so the US also has more military power, plus the US, in the event of an invasion, can stretch the Canadian army on two fronts, one front from Alaska, and the other from the wide border.
What are the gun laws in Canada? Is there an armed civilian population in Canada that can continue the guerrilla war after the surrender of the official Canadian army?
The only thing the UK is going to do is try and steal all the Canadian curries.Probably about 2yrs max. Keep in mind that Canda is part of the common wealth.

Basically. The US is even stronger in relation to Canada than Russia was against Ukraine at the start of the war, and Canadians absolutely haven't had years of frozen war to prepare them to fight.3 days max.
not long. this wont be like Ukraine, Canada dont have the same level of interest of their own country, they care more about their city or neighborhood. At most it would be a few border skirmishes and quick peace talks to join the US as a additional state, this would harm the republicans chance of winning future elections due to Canada being as woke as California.
Yes, the mentality of the Canadian people, their moral commitment to fight or surrender, will be crucial. The first three days of the invasion should completely destroyed the enemy's state institutions: parliament, various ministries and other government agencies. And most importantly, will Canadians be willing to sacrifice themselves and their comfort to protect their country? France was able to hold out for the entire First World War, losing about 1.5 million soldiers killed and receiving territories turned into ruins by the Germans, because of the morale that prevailed in French society in 1914-1918. Morale was also low in World War II, so France lasted two months, although we are talking about the same nation, but with a different state of society.Basically. The US is even stronger in relation to Canada than Russia was against Ukraine at the start of the war, and Canadians absolutely haven't had years of frozen war to prepare them to fight.

America would not invade and they'd probably lose if they did
It won't happenIf the US army invades Canada in order to annex it, how many days will Canada last?
Do you understand how hypotheticals work?It won't happen
Yes.Do you understand how hypotheticals work?
I somehow doubt that.Yes.
I wouldn't be surprised if some .is users think Trump is planning to use the military to annex Canada.I somehow doubt that.
Forget .is users. The Canadian government took Trump's media trolling seriously. JFLI wouldn't be surprised if some .is users think Trump is planning to use the military to annex Canada.

They would. The US has never won a war on its own since the 19th century. Of course its possible canadians wont even put up much of a fight and would just join them. But everyone thought that about Ukraine. Canadas size and topography makes it very hard to take. If Russia is helping them then the US is losing. Something tells me all of Europe would support them too. But the US would never invade canada.
I think this shouldn't be a thread. We all know that the US army is extremely powerful. They would. The US has never won a war on its own since the 19th century. Yes, the massive landmass is going to be difficult to claim by brute force easily (there's just too much of it, but tbf most of it is useless ice), but the sheer military might of the US armed forces dwarfs the Canadian army's ability to fight a hot war with their immediate neighbor, which means that the US won't have to send forces to every corner of the land to claim its territory, as the Canadian army would likely stand down on orders from their leaders or face getting annihilated. They would. trumps just gonna drag us into a bunch of shit that we’re gonna have to dig ourselves out of i feel.
You mean dying for a bunch of politicians who never worked one day in their lilives and steal my hard earned money yearly?0. Their military is a joke and very few Canadians are actually willing to die for their country

I have no idea if Canada high command has contingency planning for this kind of extremely low probability event (even if they do, what the fuck can they do), but almost every scenario will have the Canadian defences completely demolished just by the raw numbers. Canada doesn't have nukes to keep others at bay and they're heavily reliant on their allies for national defence. If push came to shove, they wouldn't be able to protect their oil and fresh water from the imperial ambitions of much stronger nations.
I'm willing to bet that the U.S. population has more guns per capita. Therefore, if the Canadians invaded the United States, then hell would be waiting for them, when a bullet could come from every corner, every window. The real question is how many days would America hold out in the face of an aggressive Canadian invasion!
