Just got back from the gym and was feeling very depressed before I went and now feel very happy after (endorphins)

Human are evolved to move and exercise in tribal times so I think that's why it helps me so much.

Whenever I don't exercise for a long time I get very depressed and suicidal.

Do any of you guys use exercise to cope? How many days per week do you exercise?

Exercise is unhealthy

i hate working out tbh, only time i enjoy it is when i strengthmog normies

Hard to say because I'm so inconsistent overall

5 days with 3 days of rest in-between.

Most of the time I do 4 days. Some weeks I do 6.

It's actually insane how much exercise helps me cope. It calms my anxiety and depression.
My quality of sleep and my appetite are nuked to hell after as little as three days of no activity.

can i ask why? better to spread the rest days in between the workout days instead
I don't understand, I follow an upper lower split with an arm day added, it's like this:

M: Upper
T: Lower
W: Rest
T: Upper
F: Lower
S: Arms
S: Rest
M: Rest

oh mb i thought with inbetween, you meant like 5days workout in a row, and then 3 days rest in a row.

also how much volume do you do? why an seperate arm day

Same, I can't sleep if I haven't exercised because I have so much pent up energy. On my rest days I run around my apartment and shit just to exercise like an autist :feelskek:

I'm a NEET though. I assume people with normie construction jobs where they move for 8-10 hours don't need the gym because they exercise at work but for NEETs working out and exercising is essential for mental well being.

0 ever since i gave up and became a full time rotter

I do the same amount of sets and reps but I try to progress in weight after I've reached a certain rep range or make the exercise more difficult. I haven't tried doing more volume because the gym bro faggots say it's all about intensity and mechanical tension so I just try to go to muscular failure and beyond on most lifts except compounds.

wdym make it more difficult?

its true tho, if you just add extra volume you will just get more fatigued, without extra benefits likely

i wouldnt but if you like it then its whatever

Like drop sets, partials, cheat reps etc to increase the intensity.

Why not?
actually sorry, the cheat reps can be beneficial, i meant like drop sets.

partials depend ig, you dont have to go full rom on everything, but i asume you mean like partials at the end of an set

thats not beneficial

cause eventually the stimulus to fatigue ratio will go down, so its gonna be harder to recover. and also just not needed. i used to do it too but i improved faster when i stopped doing that
You will not grow your muscles if you don't take them to failure, though. I know that most soy "exercise specialists" say that you don't have to train to failure but I believe this advice only works for beginners and novices which I agree with. I wouldn't call myself intermediate but I'm kind of close I'd say. I've been training for 4 years now.

You should at least go for walks and shit if you can't afford a gym membership.

Anything is better than 0 exercise, I legit become an insane suicidal schizoid and go full RAGE mode after a few days of 0 exercise.

true you need to atleast get close to failure, like 1 or 2 rir

ive been working out for almost 3 years, so youve been doing it longer then me. i think i have an decent physique

What are your max lifts?

not that good, i was stuck on lifts for months, and i dont really do sbd
but

bench:100kg
RDL: 150kg x 6
Mogs me with that bench. Do you bench 100kg for reps? My bench press is shit but I got a decent deadlift and squat. I also do RDL but it's around 130kg, I could probably go heavier though.

idk i just did it for 1 rep and stopped cause i just wanted to see if i can do it

i havent done squats in literally months, i think last time is over 6 months ago, i did 120kg for 3 or 5 reps.

do you deadlift more then you can rdl? i havent done deadlifts in years but i kinda want to try my max tbh

Yeah I deadlift more. Last time I tested my max, I lifted 160kg, I'm pretty sure I can go a bit more heavier though if I autistically dial in my form.

nice bro ive never done 160kg deadlift, most ive done is 140kg on deadlift

I go to the gym three days per week & do home exercises every day except for when I'm sick.

zero, mainly cause i barely even have the drive to get on my PC let alone work out.

My job is moderately physical but I don't do a ton of formal exercise. Once in a while I'll do pushups or lift free weights

One per week because I have mandatory training to pass a year

5 times a week I run about 3 to 3.5 miles. Best way to calm anger and aggression, couldn’t care less about health benefits much less confidence or whatever lol.

Based. It's so true that it helps with anger, whenever I don't exercise I became almost homicidally angry and violent. I start punching walls in my room and throwing things.

That's so true, the endorphins after exercise is my highlight of the day. I go like 4+ days a week. Haven't been heaps recently due to a shoulder tendon injury but I'm back at it

I only go for walks when I feel like it. Haven't as much recently but used to do 10,000-20,000 steps everyday. I don't gymcope because it makes my chronic pain worse.

5 days a week usually. Although I will listen to my body and do 3 or 4 sometimes. I've been doing less in the gym and just focusing on the big lifts and im gaining weight n getting stronger.
