Balkans aren't Slavs by many metrics.

Yes, some speak Slavic languages, but racially are classified as "Dinarics" rather than "Baltid" the latter of which, was sued in reference to Slavs mainly alongside "Alpinids"

They also are(very closely) the descendants of Illyrians, who originally spoke a language which was its own distinct one.

The same kinda goes for calling Anglos "Germanics" when they're mixed with Celtic & French DNA with some having a "Med" look to them.

Where do you get your info from? Most of the Balkans is Slavic, genetically they're a mix of Slavs and Roman balkan locals, who were mixed with Roman anatolians. Modern day Balkan peoples, on average, aren't closely related to Illyrians.

Albanians are closer. Because they are the population in the Balkans with the least amount of Slavic ancestry on average.
